Matcha Green Tea
Thank you for your interest in our Matcha tea.
Our Matcha is only grown in Nishio, Japan under excellent conditions.
Steeped Tea only uses suppliers that challenge the status quo in high
standards of quality, food safety, and the disuse of pesticides, heavy
metals and microbiology.
At Steeped Tea, we pride ourselves in selling the highest grade of
Premium Matcha tea for everyday consumption. There is only one grade
higher than Premium, and that is Ceremonial. Ceremonial grade is
produced from the youngest tea leaves plucked from the tea plant. It is
reserved for tea ceremonies in the finest tea houses in Japan and not
recommended for everyday drinking. The price point is set extremely high
due to the very small quantities produced. There is no recognized
standard for the labeling of Ceremonial Matcha tea.
Other Matcha grades include Blending and Cooking grades. The lower the
Matcha grade, the more bitter in taste and darker brown in color.
Steeped Tea uses only Premium grade stone-ground Matcha which has the
same flavor profile as Ceremonial Matcha, with no bitterness.
There is no nutritional difference between Ceremonial and Premium
grade. In consuming Steeped Tea’s Matcha, you are receiving the same
quality of nutrients, amino acids and antioxidants as Ceremonial grade.
